Uncompromising accuracy
The FEHLMANN VERSA 943 was designed for maximum precision throughout.
Cooled sliding components as well as the cooled machine design reliably prevent unwanted heating.
The X-axis is supported along the entire length of the bed for perfect stability.
Features and highlights
- Clamping area 870 x 760 mm, workpieces up to 1000 kg.
- Excellent access and optimum overview of the machining area.
- Manual loading of parts from the front. The door extends directly into the machine roof, allowing convenient loading of the crane from above.
- The tool changer with chain magazine has a capacity for 48 tools in the basic version and can be upgraded to 80 tools. The additional rack magazine holds, depending on the tool holder, from 224 to a maximum of 400 additional tools (scalable) and can be easily installed to save space on the left side of the machine.
- High rigidity with minimal thermal growth and optimum vibration absorption thanks to the machine base made of gray cast iron with three-point support system.
- Perfect dynamic precision thanks to the weight-optimized moving parts made of spheroidal cast iron.
- Standardized as well as customized automation with a robot can be upgraded at any time, as the right side of the machine remains accessible.
- Perfect control from the front with ergonomic configuration of all controls.
- A wide range of automation options are available, including customized solutions.
Parts Handling - automation without limits
Thanks to its sophisticated and compact design, the FEHLMANN VERSA 943 can be automated at any time. Since the automatic loading door is located on the right-hand side of the machine, an automation system can be easily connected. The processing area is freely accessible from the front for setup and process control work, regardless of the machine configuration. Depending on the number of pallets and the variety of parts, the system can be operated and monitored either by the pallet management system integrated in the control unit or via the flexible FEHLMANN MCM™ (Milling Center Manager). The FEHLMANN VERSA 943 can therefore be adapted to a variety of automation concepts, even if you decide to upgrade your machine later.
When an 8- or 16-hour shift per day is not enough… Increasingly, “time to market” is one of the most important “survival” criteria for modern tool shops and parts manufacturers. New products are developed and produced in extremely short periods of time. With the latest information technology FEHLMANN MCM™ (Milling Center Manager), parts can be loaded and unloaded quickly and reliably – in an operator-friendly manner. In addition to high part quality, key factors are unrestricted availability, system availability during day shifts, and process safety during ghost shifts (unattended work, with or without a small number of personnel). FEHLMANN MCM™ offers you valuable support – proven many times over – that meets modern automation requirements and is based on open industry standards. Since the MCM software is an in-house FEHLMANN development, you can entrust us with the support of the entire system.
Almost limitless possibilities – discover FEHLMANN MCM™!
Fehlmann Milling Center Manager
The milling center control system – Fehlmann’s own development – controls the machine and the robot. The machining sequence, zero points, etc. are entered in a simple and clear work table (Windows interface). With a click of the mouse, the operator can change the machining sequence or individual parameters while the system is running.
Remaining flexible even in automatic mode: the part can be set up without any problems. Thanks to the high operator comfort of the machine and the MCM, the Fehlmann solution is not only suitable for series production, but is already effective when only a few parts are manufactured.
Tool breakage monitoring, CNC program control, system event logging and telephone alarm (optional) via SMS sent to a pre-selected mobile phone number are just a few of the functions that allow unattended operation at night or on weekends.
Complete system from a single source
The systems are commissioned and tested with a configuration that meets the customer’s needs here at our site.
We develop and manufacture the machine and the MCM™. We use standard robots for the processing of the parts.
With the above systems, we offer proven solutions.
To a large extent, we owe the practicality of our solutions to the many suggestions and ideas from MCM™ customers, many of which were used in the standard solution.
Options
In the standard version, our machines are already well equipped with all the functions required for high-precision machining.
Various additional options are available, such as:
- High-pressure coolant system with spindle feed and chip conveyor.
- Various tools and part measuring systems (probe systems, laser …)
- Integrated minimum lubrication for HSC machining
- Integrated zero-point clamping system and automation solutions
